Shelby SEARS 1976 - 2025 SHS 1994

July 12, 1976 - March 17, 2025

Shelby Sears, a beloved, generous family member and member of the Sheridan community, passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 48.

He was well known as a successful business owner of Quality Lawn Care, which he owned and operated for 33 years. Known for his kind heart, empathy for others, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and especially his dogs “his four-legged kids”. The greatest brother and family member imaginable. With wisdom, and guidance that was invaluable to others. Shelby’s impact on the lives of those around him was profound and generous.

Born and raised in Sheridan, Shelby’s selflessness, empathy and compassion knew no bounds. Whether it was lending a helping hand to a neighbor or offering encouragement and wisdom. His heart was always open. His generosity was evident in every interaction he had, leaving an indelible mark on everyone he encountered. Shelby’s love for animals, particularly his four-legged kids, was a well-known aspect of his life. His dogs brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. He believed that dogs possessed souls even greater than that of humans, and that we could learn a thing or two from them. Treated his dogs with the same care and respect he extended to his family and friends.

Shelby’s legacy will live on in the countless cherished memories he left behind. His example of kindness, empathy, generosity, humility, and love will continue to inspire generations to come.

Surviving Shelby are his beloved dogs, close family, and a circle of friends who will deeply miss him.

Shelby was preceded in death by his parents, whom he often spoke of with great affection.

In lieu of flowers, donate to the animal shelter in Shelby’s name, honoring his deep love for animals. Shelby’s memory will forever reside in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. He has found eternal peace with God.

A Celebration Of Life for Shelby will be held with a gathering of family and friends for a light breakfast reception (which was Shelby’s favorite) on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Champion Kane Reception Room from 9:00 am - Noon.
