Gerald Malcolm LUND 1950 - 2025 SHS 1969

Gerald Malcolm Lund passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Gerald was born in Great Falls, MT. He was raised in Sheridan and spent most of his life there. Gerald briefly attended Rocky Mtn College, where he met his wife of 55 years, Paulina VanderVeur. They both transferred to University of Wyoming, where Gerald graduated with a BS in Parks and Recreations Management and a minor in Geology. He then went on to graduate from the Wyoming Police Academy. He served in the Sheridan Police Department as a career police officer.

Gerald was an avid photographer and owner of Sheridan Photo and Design, as well as Magic Box Studio. Upon retirement he moved to Florida, allowing him to follow his passion for scuba diving and boating and the great outdoors. He was a licensed boat Captain, Master Scuba Diver and scuba instructor. He shared his knowledge and passion by teaching people about the wonders of the ocean, including as a guide and instructor at the Manatee State Park in Crystal River, FL. It was a great joy to watch him teach and give people of all ages profound and life-changing experiences as they came face-to-face with the aquatic life and environment. In His second retirement, Gerald and Paulina moved to Edgewood, New Mexico and closer to his son and grandson. I

n Edgewood, he continued to contribute to the community as part of the New Mexico Big Horn Gun Club and wherever a neighbor needed a helping hand.

Gerald is survived by his wife Paulina Lund, his children Britta Schroff of Huntsville, Alabama Christipher Lund of Edgewood, New Mexico, his brother Mark Lund of Bozeman, Montana, and four grandchildren.
