Memorial services for Philip R. “Fud” Gifford Jr., 59, will be 11a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Sheridan Elks Lodge, according to his family, which is handling arrangements.
Mr. Gifford died March 16, 2008, in Sheridan Memorial Hospital of cancer.
He was born Dec. 18, 1948, in Sheridan to Philip R. and Maxine Gifford Sr.
He received an associate degree from Sheridan College and attended the University of Wyoming. He was drafted into the Army in his senior year.
After service, he returned to Sheridan and went to work at Decker Coal. He later developed a tri-state wholesale bait and tackle business.
He enjoyed the Big Horn Mountains, camping, fishing, barbecuing, trips to Las Vegas, and his four Dalmatian dogs.
He was a Wyoming athletics and Yankees fan.
He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Claudia K. Plachek.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; a daughter, Holly; his mother; and three brothers, Rod, Richard and Ed.
